So, there is a rumor that Rite Aid is ending their +UP program at the end of the month. The theory is based on the fact that the early bootleg edition of the 3/28 ad contains no +UP Reward offers. Given that they just launched a new Allergy Rewards program and still mention +UPs in their advertising, I say no way. One man's opinion.

I have a totally different story. I walked into my rite aid and spoke to the manager who called corporate right in front of me and they said No way are they stopping the Up Rewards program.

Corporate is not telling their customers anything.... but the ad is out already for the first week of april with no up rewards.... and the DMs already had their meetings to find out about the new program

As long as you can still use coupons and at least earn something, I think thats ok, not as good, but ok, who does'nt need free gas!

I could.possibly do the gas.cards.but other.than store credit or money cards nothing else would interest me.

The only thing that would keep me in the stores would be Visa gift cards. I can roll those back over at RA and not worry about expiration dates or tax or spend them somewhere else. That actually might be a better deal for me, but until they actually tell us something.......

This is what I found about the new program. It's not just Rite Aid but other companies are starting this  this program (Plenti). AT&T, ExxonMobil, Macy’s, Nationwide, Rite Aid, Direct Energy and Hulu are joining with American Express to launch Plenti, the first U.S.-based coalition loyalty program with well-known brands where consumers can earn and use Plenti points for purchasing a wide range of products, regardless of the payment method consumers choose to use. The program will officially launch this spring and is expected to include more brands in additional categories.

Additional info. The link I posted above is very detailed and will tell you exactly what their goal is. But this is the comment posted by Rite Aid:

Rite Aid:

“We are excited to join Plenti and add this compelling customer value proposition to our already successful wellness+ loyalty program,” said John Learish, senior vice president, marketing for Rite Aid. “Our customers told us that adding the ability to earn and use points for savings in our stores and at eligible Plenti partner locations, while saving up to 20% every day in our stores, significantly increases the appeal of our program and creates more reasons for them to shop at Rite Aid more often.”
