For those of you who don't know me, I am not one to ever play coupon police, and coupon etiquette...well, I don't have any. Looking down on the stunts people pull when couponing is not my style, and frankly, the concept that someone is "ruining it for everyone" or "giving couponers a bad name" means nothing to me.

Having said that, it is my contention that you are completely screwing yourself if you use that scanned IVC coupon for the Nice toilet paper that is floating around. Why? Well, I have a few reasons.

First, let's just agree that the coupon being scanned and passed around is completely fraudulent. It is cut and dry. Those of you who want to debate that should come up with a well written argument about why a digital copy of a limited release coupon is different than a copy of a paper coupon. Anybody want a scan of my Jingle Bucks bar codes? The two are analogous.

Now, if you have followed me for any amount of time then you know that I am very extreme when it comes to Walgreens. I am sure that there are people who get more stuff for free at Wags then I do, but there certainly aren't very many. The single biggest reason that I am able to do what I do at the corner of happy and healthy, is that I have the unfettered cooperation and trust of the store employees. They know me, what I do, why I do it, and most importantly, they know that I don't do anything that will ever cost their store money. It is impossible to over state how important that is. This is why managers love to place massive pre-orders for me, the cashiers smile when I roll up with five shopping carts, and why I get hundreds of coupon books. Your ability to build these relationships will define your success or failure.

There will be backlash for the managers at these stores that have accepted this coupon. I guarantee that same backlash trickles right down to the cashier that took your coupon, and from that point on, you will be branded. Every transaction you try will be under the microscope, and just wait til the next time you have a coupon beep. Good luck with that.

You need people in the store to be on your side. I can promise you that using that Nice coupon will cause you more trouble in the long run then some cheap toilet paper is worth.

Up to you......

I was looking for the coupon earlier today but I didn't know it was a copy of a q. Thanks for the heads up. I went to a Wags yesterday that I go to from time to time and they are no longer taking printable coupons because some one took a bunch of copied printables in there. They would not even take them from me and they know they were legit. The cashier tried calling the store manager twice with no luck. I will just take them to another store but I missed out on 2 really cute tape dispensers and a half hour of my time.

This would never fly at my wags you need the actual coupon if I have one they will allow it other wise nope so I didn't even try.  Also it's only 125 square feet TOTAL for the package um to me that isn't even a good deal one roll of scott has 1000 sq feet, I'm just saying ;) lol

Completely agree. With as many opportunities as we have for free/ close to free why risk it? So are we asking that any other conversation regarding that IVC code be 69ed. so we don't have it constantly in the thread :)

Not only is the well stated, but also so extremely logical.  This is why we all are here with you Rob, because of your amazing genius ability to break things down to the very root.

We recently had a printer issue where our ink bled onto every damn KFR 1.50/1 eggo and 1.50/1 poptarts coupons i had printed.  It was 16 coupons which would not scan at Kroger.  But, because we have been very honest, and we have our store's trust, they took every one of those bled through coupons.

The trust of my store took years to gain...is it worth losing it and possibly getting a clerk fired before xmas 50 cent TP?  And not even good TP at that!  :P

There are how ever real Catalina that was printed between 11/5 -12/2 which are real and if your one of the lucky ones who got it then awesssome. I was one of them and felt not an ounce of guilt because what I had was real.
